 Welcome to Government Degree College, Chinturu!

It is with immense pride and pleasure that I extend my warmest greetings to all our students, faculty, and stakeholders. Established in 2018, our college is located in the picturesque Agency area of Alluri Sitarama Raju District, previously part of the East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. Our institution was founded with the primary aim of catering to the educational needs of the tribal students from Chinturu, Kunavaram, Vara Ramachandra Puram, and Yetapaka mandals. At the time of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, this area belonged to Telangana. However, due to the potential impact of the Polavaram Multipurpose Project, it was amalgamated into Andhra Pradesh.

Understanding the unique challenges faced by the tribal communities in this region, the Government of Andhra Pradesh, alongside various NGOs and individuals dedicated to tribal upliftment, took the significant step of establishing this college. Our mission is not just to enhance the literacy rate among the tribal population but also to preserve their rich traditions, customs, and culture while providing them with modern education.

Affiliated with Adikavi Nannaya University, our college began its academic journey in 2018-19 with four undergraduate programs: B.A. (Economics, History, Political Science), B.Com (General), B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), and B.Sc. (Botany, Zoology, Chemistry). In 2021, we introduced B.Sc. (Botany, Chemistry, Horticulture) to our curriculum. During the academic year of 2023-24, the Single-Major system is introduced by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, our college is permitted to offer programmes like.,
